The Homeless are not just nameless faces you pass on the street. They are real people, just like you, who by choice or circumstance have lost everything they owned. They aren't all drug addicts & alcoholics. Yes, some are...of course, so are some of your neighbors, friends & coworkers. The real difference is somehow most of the homeless didn't have anyone there to help them when times got hard. No family to guide them, no real friends to talk to, no community to support them.

Some are families who have just fallen on very hard times. Some have children. Some are children.

Alabama has a higher Homeless population than almost any other state, due in part to our moderate temperatures year round. This gives us an opportunity to help more people.

To do this, we take donations throughout the year for things that people living on the streets would need. Just think, if YOU were forced to live on the street with your family, what bare essential items would you need? Those are the items we look for.

Even though it's warm most of the year here, it can  occasionally get very, very cold. We focus our efforts during these cold months, since that's when living outside, with no shelter, is the hardest.

Helping the Homeless, feeding them, giving out clothes, water, blankets, socks....all of that is very important. What is ALSO important is that when you do these things, you learn how to give. You grow, and you put feet to your faith. You find your faith come alive, and you feel joy like you have never known.

This is one of the primary things we try to teach at The Purpose Life. Life does have a purpose, and our primary purpose is to learn how to love those around us as Jesus loves us all.

That takes practice. So we give you many opportunities to join us and learn what it means to love, and give.
